Normally, in vanilla Minecraft, crashing or attempting to break a boat will turn it into an assortment of sticks and wooden planks - never enough to reconstruct the boat it originally came from. The PickBoat plugin fixes that.
When you crash or break a boat now, instead of turning into that random pile of mats, it drops itself as a boat. That's pretty much all there is to this plugin, but very handy.
