TorchArrow plugin Empty
PostSubject: TorchArrow plugin   TorchArrow plugin I_icon_minitimeSun Apr 01, 2012 5:25 pm

TorchArrow is a plugin that allows players to use their bow and arrows to place torches at long distance or shoot flares. The three types of arrows are: torch arrows, redstone torch arrows, and flare arrows.

The first type of arrow, torch arrows, places a torch at wherever the arrow strikes after shot from your bow. In order to use this function, you need a bow and arrows per normal, but torches must be placed to the right of your bow in your inventory. It consumes a torch, and an arrow as per normal. It not only places a torch, but has other functions as well: it can melt snow/ice within the light radius instantly, set enemies on fire randomly, does more damage than a normal arrow, and emits light while in flight.

Pictured: how to properly equip in order to use torch arrows (the location of the arrows and bow actually don't matter, so long as you have them both, the bow is in an equipped slot, and the torches are directly to the right of the bow)

The second type is the redstone torch arrow. It's very similar to the aforementioned torch arrow, but with slight differences. Redstone torch arrows actually do half the damage of a normal arrow, and can still set enemies on fire but only for half as long as a regular torch arrow. It still emits light during flight and places a torch, though, as you can probably tell from the title of it, it's a redstone torch that gets placed. Using it is exactly the same as regular torch arrows, substituting redstone torches for regular ones.

The third type of arrow is flare arrows. Unlike the other arrows, this type does not actually place an object. It still emits light in flight, and even more on impact, but goes out after a predetermined time (how long Ken?). This arrow, however, does zero damage. In order to fire these arrows, equip glowstone dust in place of torches as described previously.

When using any of these types of arrows, the player will emit light while the bow is drawn for a length of time (how long?). It has the same intensity of whichever type of arrow you're using and will follow the player if you're moving around. If you don't fire the arrow before the light goes out, it will consume an extra torch/redstone torch/glowstone dust.

This plugin is pretty handy for lighting areas you can't quite reach yet (ex: if you're on the bottom of a ravine and want to see what's above you), or for melting my Crystal Palace. ...don't do that one.
